i have a 2010 silverado with 22's and a loud exhaust, no front plate. never been pulled for no tag, been driving the truck for 14 months.

i guess the officers tend to target the vehicles that are stereotypically driven by "street racers", and other miscreants.

i also have a 91 tercel, had no front plate for 1 week, and got a warning for it. car has wheels and tint, i know thats why i got pulled (tint is 12%, 35% is legal in md). i think i got a warning because i was super nice to the officer.

anybody ever heard of a corvette being stopped for no front tag? i bet its super rare.

A euro plate is not a legal US plate regardless of what it says. Just pay the 40 bucks.

Cali is crazy strict but still we have the most number of illegal cars on the streets. That's why I keep both plates on my car even on the track just in case some stupid cop pops out in the back straight and give me ticket...haha.

Sorry to hear that Matt. sounds like a cheap shot by a cop having a slow day.

Not to add insult to injury but, its a legal ticket and you have to pay it, what is worse is that the law can actually cite you for having the euro plate on the car aswell. ( no matter if it reads the same as your actual CA plate. )

Basically the law says you are only allowed to have one registration number per vehicle, the number assighned by the State the car is registered in.
having a euro plate also attached to the car is technically illegal, no matter what it reads. The cops/judge can view this as being a seperate plate, meaning in effect you have two registration numbers on one vehicle.

Having a euro plate attached under your CA plate is also technically illegal for the same reason.

    i'm not saying its clever...

CA is in debt and counties like money. Raise the prices on unnecessary front plate tickets and decrease debt - DUH!

This is a capitalist society; expect a "bulshit" law such as this.
