Corrosion of the insulation would allow the wires to potentially touch and that would short them out and cause a melting of the insulation as well. So that is very well possible.

Pick and Pull should have the MAF at some point depending on their e30 selection. You can check inventory on their site but I usually just browse the lot when I want to determine if there is anything worthwhile.

Ive opened my MAF myself but not to mod . To Powder and then needed to seal up the top afterwards.

trying to bleed the cooling system on the new 325, but it is over heating. I did the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and thermostat if that helps any. I have the front jacked up a fair amount and I got it to the half way point and floored it to 5000 rpm, but it is still over heating. Also it will not stop bubbling from the radiator cap. Me and my dad are completely lost.

I guess a better way to put it, is that it wont bleed. Like it just continues to bubble no matter what we do, then eventually overheat.

jack up front, turn heater core on full heat. No need to rev engine just let it idle. let bleed till it looks like most bubble are out. Done.

if you can't jack park on steep hill.
also 318 you use a bleed plug on radiator.
325 you use bleed plug on thermostat housing

                  coolant goes everywhere
