        Sure there is, its called autocrossing, only there you learn how to drive and not hit things.

        I honestly don't know why anyone would want to go drifting unless they had way more $ than sense. Its a good way to destroy a car very quickly. Seriously when was the last time you saw an amateur drift car that wasn't beaten to hell? I know a couple guys who drift pretty well, but their cars are a wreck. Who wants to drive around in a car that is missing body panels with the rest of them looking like a pissed off ex girlfriend went after the car with a baseball bat?

        I respect the skill of doing it right and not hitting things. The trouble is, you need very deep pockets and no emotional attachment to all the cars you will destroy in learning how to do it well.

          What's a 150k m42 worth? Eric said $500 but I think that's kinda a lot high... Idk I want second opinions. And yes I have searched and saw some Gd threads but I want a local price not an overall price

          Plus the 240 tranny

            Getrag 240 I couldn't give away. But I have seen them sell for $100. Not a huge market. I would start at $500 for the whole setup and work from there.

                      Yeah I don't see a big following for the 240, but they are nice in that they bolt straight up to a 24v swap. No dealing with twisting the selector rod or different trans mounts, and no changing out the diff.

                        Drifting is fun, though I think the style and "lifestyle" are lame as hell. If you want to do it at an autox, don't hit too many cones and if you spin out more than once, just drive normally for the rest of the run so as not to waste everyone's time.

                        I have seen a few amateur "drift" cars that I thought were pretty nice, but most are beat to shit. Autox cars, on the other hand... Lots of really nice ones.

                            I tore into the M3 this weekend. It is such a pile. New rotors, pads, sensors are on. Headliner replaced. Driver's seat replaced. KDW2's ready to go on. Manual conversion on the way. Suspension on the way.

                            It leaks every fluid, and I can't tell where the leaks are coming from because everything's covered with stupid plastic. Who's familiar with places S52s leak oil from?

                              they leak at the tensioner, front cover/ profile gaskets, valve cover and and of course it's an auto so all that crap leaks and the PS leaks and the oil filter housing. but hell your are a bmw genius so u know all this already.
