Dude I think I JUST got it to work. The oil pressure light went out, the timing chain tensioner got oil and it quieted down. This is how I hoped the first startup would be but unfortunately it took 2 months of bullshit to get here. Car seems to be running fine. Should be driving it after this weekend.

were you running 20w50 in there from the start?

Yeah, that may be it. 4 doors have a more solid body feel.

just run new speaker wire to each speaker from the head unit. replace factory speakers with some cheap pioneer coaxial 5-1/4". done.

i ran my first e30 like this for years, and it sounded waaaaaay better than the factory system ever did. dont get me wrong though, i know what a nice setup consists of, i have been doing car stereo for YEARS. i have even done a few headunit-less fully amplified car systems, which i will probably do next time i wire up any of my older cars.

lol, good luck on that one, i tried to gather a crew for months last year, only Spencer, Nate, and Danny nutted up and made the drive... i would go, but my e30 needs new drivetrain, my getrag260/driveshaft have finally imploded.

Cary u got a month. get a zf320 in there and new driveshaft and hit the road.

rear end needs bushings and camber adjustments welded in as well. have to source a diff, trans, linkage, driveshaft, and find a place to do all the work. not gonna happen. if i had a garage, this would all have been done months ago. I wanted to meet a childhood friend who lives in Japan but will be with family in Seattle area at same time as picnic as well. sucks.

again, I dont have a garage or driveway, nothing. I dont even have my tools. they are locked away at a friends parents house.

if this wasnt the case, i would have kept that s50 and put it into my 525it that i had to junk...
