The 5s is a pretty heavy motor. 3sgte is a beast, like 550lbs, and they are basically the same minus the turbo stuff. There's not much to remove on an Mk1 either

That's crazy, I looked up the AW11 curb weight and it's about NA miata weight which is what I'd expect (~2300#). How the hell does a 5s add 300lbs?

I am in you. In the Redwoods, off to Fort Bragg, then hopefully Monterey by evening. I've covered about 1300 miles thus far, through the PNW and still haven't seen a single e30.

Good weather down here right now, I'm down here training for insurance adjusting. We have a little place out on camanche Lake, east of Sacramento. Most people seem to be friendly, and I was glad to see the many prop 215 friendly folks around here too!

I'd like to know of any cool events that may be popping up soon, if anything. Saw an E30 M3 out towards Sonora today, wasn't in the greatest condition either.

That is an importation BAR stamp and will not make an engine swap legal, it just shows that the car has passed the importation inspection. You need a very different sticker for an engine swap; which tells the mechanic to smog the car as if he's smogging the donor car.

My Canadian car has the importation sticker, and my old Mr2 that I swapped has a BAR engine swap sticker. They are very different.s

I'm pretty sure this is the older form of the modern BAR tag. When I took my old GTI to legalize the VR6 swap they riveted the VIN tag and the second part was the piece that shows the smog parts. I'm pretty sure this is legit and ready to go
