Most likely a 6d, it's in my price range and the new processor/sensor are amazing in low light and has a great range of detail in high contrast situations. (My brain is totally skipping on what this is called) dynamic range maybe?
It lacks on the video side of things, and the focusing system is very basic, however I'm willing to put up with it for the FF.
The other contender is the 5DII

Photo request! E30's with IS side skirts painted black to math black front lip. I'm trying to stick with my whole black/white panda theme but feel like the IS skirts might make the car look a little more aggressive from the side. Anyone have a shot of unpainted or black IS skirts on their late model coupe?

The shutter speed will come in handy for me, I like shooting drift action and skateboarding a lot.
I wanna get a pancake 40mm f/2.4 STM, but the 50mm f/1.8 STM is also calling me.Comment

Spencer, the 40mm pancake looks terrible. the weight is amazing but nothing is sharp.
get this lens used on CL

and avoid all the STM lensesComment

also the pancake 40mm is a good lens, and the cost for one new is minimal.Comment

never use the on-camera mic EVER!!!!
The Rode micro is a cheap mic and 1000000x better.
if you are poor buy used lenses. not shit new ones.
the $150 u spent on that lens could buy you a nicer sharper one.
and as for getting a 40mm. that lens is a waste on your crop camera. it's about 64mm on your camera. so not good got portraits. not good for action. not tele for close up drift shots and not wide for cool shots.
i just sold my 50mm prime for that reason.
I shoot 16-35mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 100mm f/2.8 and 70-300mm f/shit
lastly if you wanted to shoot video you should have gone mirrorless sony. it does everything you want to do... better.
dont waste money bc you think you know what you want. research before buying.Comment

Eric I understand where your coming from. But I'm not looking to be the best at shooting photos or videos. I have an 18-55mm that will suffice for non full frame. And when it comes to the mic I'm well aware, I have friends who do this stuff for a living. You met one of them (Cody) he uses a rode mic haha. Best bang for the buck.
I was simply looking for a step up from my rebel xt and video capability. Now I'm just looking for some equipment that caters to me. I'll definitely look into used lens' tho!
Not only that but all the best equipment in the world is no good if the photographer/videographer doesn't know how to dial it in, and cant take a good photo or video.
I know I'm not great yet, but I like to think I'm pretty good haha.Comment
