damnit. i'm busy today but really wanted to see what you wound up doing for that.

exhaust is the one thing i'm worried about with mine- i've decided to try and pass it off as an M50TU, but the Z3 cat is a 2-into-1 and will hopefully let me reuse my current exhaust. only thing is it was never used on anything but a Z3, and will pretty clearly indicate itself as an OBD2 part (or at least it would be obvious to me, if i were the one doing the inspection).

i have a (perhaps irrational) hatred of OBD2 engine management, because i grew up learning on simple pre-OBD shit like VAG CIS/digifant or nippondenso on toyotas/nissans. the thought of carrying over all that extra crap does not make me happy.

anyway i am currently beginning to post shit i know i won't need from both cars, so M42 guys or anyone with an interest in Z3 parts, watch FS here, or the local Facebook groups.

OBD2 is definitely the way to go. Better diagnostics and better tuning options, better support...all better.

OBD1 is simpler, but just do an obd2 conversion. It's really really easy.

no, we're only talking about engine & management here, i am keeping the G240 and my 4.10 Torsen no matter what; i have no need for the Z3's tranny/driveshaft.

i actually just picked up my old tranny from oliver's shop yesterday. then went and had a murderously spicy burger at St John's in sunnyvale. then paid for that lunch decision on the toilet later.

which one of you dorito kids wants my corbeau clubman buckets? looking at you spency. even with brackets they were about 20 pounds lighter than the heated vert seats they replaced.

So I found an 87 325e at the SJ North yard that had an LSD and asked my buddy who lives down there to go see if the diff was still in it. Nope! And the hunt goes on...

you'll need your own seat brackets as i'm going to get a different (more comfy) set of corbeaus but they'll go cheap. still shuffling around shit to fit 2 cars in the garage, pics when i can.
