So next month I will be tracking my car for the first time. I'm already planning a bunch of maintenance and fixing a couple problems I've been putting off, but should I fork out the money and do SS brake lines or should I just flush the brake fluid for now and leave it at that?

i've had both SS and good new oem rubber. there is no real difference.
when people say it makes a huge difference, it's bc they are going from worn out to new.
if your lines are old, replace them. also get good track/autox pads pfc008/001s or hawk hp+. brake fade would a bigger issue that possible blowing a line.
the flush is a must, check for air, and if the piston moves or is frozen. grease the sliding pins. if you need new calipers O'Reilly sells rebuild ones pretty cheap.

You will not notice SS lines until they're at full red hot track temp. It helps a lot with pedal feel when they're at track heat but that's it, you won't tell a difference any other time.

                    Been pretty quiet here.

Ignoring all the work the cars actually need, I finally got around to fabricating a 3" rear muffler section with massive help from a friend. Dual 2.5 -> single 3" for now, to be replaced with 3.5" down the road if I install cams.

Now to continue ignoring the cars and see if I can swing a real vacation instead.
