I tried shifting without a clutch today. It was easiest from 2-3 and 3-4. I got it most of the time, but grinded a tiny bit on 4th like twice. So how's everyone's day been?

^ dont shift w/o the clutch on e30 unless you have to. our syncros arent good enough.

Our synchros are brass dude. You know how soft brass is? I float gears in my jeep all the time, but its a crude piece of machinery, not a bmw.

Any tips on removing the tranny fill/drain plugs other than doing some pushups? These are fucking tight and look like they may have blue locktite on them.

So I soaked it in wd40, and did this...still not fucking budging. I have no clue why the fuck a drain plug could fucking possibly have to be this fucking tight. My back hurts from putting so much pressure on it.

Your a little too far up on that wrench. Slide your wrench as far back as you can to get more leverage.

I can't it hits the ground. I'll jack it up a couple more inches and try again.

EDIT: Did that. Got the silver wrench to the end of the black wrench and pushed with all my might. Didn't do shit. Whoever tightened these bolts last must have been fucking superman. And I definitely think i messed up something in my back from this shit. what the fuck.

I can't tell from the picture, but if I remeber correctly the fill plug is a allen hex and not a bolt like what you are showing in the picture. Look for a recessed allen on the passenger side. if I remeber it's 17mm hex, but it's been years since I been under a M42

Don't see any recessed allens. There's this one, but I don't think that's it. Where would the fill plug be if that one was it...?

This is what I'm looking at. The big 17mm bolt is what I'm assuming is the fill plug. There's also an identical one on the bottom of the tranny, which should be the drain plug.
