Cab has the best one ever. Mine feels really good for the price though. Got a Z3M one from Patrick (e30shbobberr) for $20 and picked up a new main bushing from the dealer. I'd get one from blunt for half the price though if you can wait. There's almost zero forward and backward slop, and it's nice and notchy without being hard to get into gear. There is a bit of side to side slop in gear though, i'll eventually get delrin bushings for the front and modify the back support bracket to stop that slop. You'll probably need to replace all the bushings, not just the main one that the ball of the shifter sits in. New tranny mounts make a big difference too.The first car I ever rode in was an e30

The one I have for the 4door is very sloppy, and I figure maybe I will upgrade while I am at it.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

The uuc isn't exactly in my price range right now, and neither is the akg. I was looking more at replacement short shifters from other bmw's.
With the tranny out of the car I plan to get all new shifter bushings, motor mounts, and a clutch pressure hose.
Any gaskets/seals on the tranny I should be doing while it is out?
