New mounts & bushings for the front end (motor, trans, cabs, strut bearing), fresh brakes all around (rotors, pads, sensors, e-brake refresh, swaybar endlinks), catback exhaust (group-buy), miscellaneous (is-lip clips, seat shocks).

Or ~$2000 for a used motorcycle.

well if your thinking about bringing the e3o on your commute to SF i would rather buy the bike and commute in that. e30 will end up dinged to hell from city folk.....

Motorcycle. Less on money spent on gas, less stress from sitting in traffic, less likely to rip of a front lip/break an oil pan from the City's unannounced road work.

Also, people in SF drive by braille.

I should have been a little clearer, not THE city, but Downtown San Jose which still has horrific parking and does work on my e30's gas mileage.

Gas is roughly $50 a week and parking is roughly the same.
Or I can get a bike with like 65mpg and use the free motorcycle parking on campus.

This will be my first semester without a job, so that's why it matters now.

Pick n Pulls prices are ridiculous.

$83 for a M50 intake manifold, fuel rail, dipstick tube, and dipstick

i used to live right on north 2nd when i was going to state. if you want, you can park right on empire and 2nd which is right behind the japantown/ayer lightrail station. its neighborhood parking and no, you don't need a permit to park on the street. if you're full time student you have free public transportation. you can take the lightrail or the bus which is only 3 stops away from campus (less than 5 min). there is another underground parking garage on Paseo right next to Togos which has a rent a cop to watch the cars for $8/day. if you dont wanna park in any of the campus garages.

Or the big stone ridge meet in Pleasanton?
