Spent the day pulling my S50 and tranny out of its donor car. My garage looks like the car barfed everywhere... Now I have to go over the engine and replace all the fiddly bits. The Definitive 1991 M-Technic Thread - a work in progressComment

dude, it's really easy. one man job, seriously. disconnect driveshaft, them make sure you jack up the diff then take the bolts out for the subframe plates and subframe. slowly lower the diff, then the subframe will follow. sometimes i jack it up a bit then subframe loosens.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Hey Eric.. School me on engine sounds..
How exactly can you tell a car is "running rough"? I believe the IS might be in that category; everyone that's been in it says it's got a massive valve tick and an exhaust leak in 3 different places, all of which have been said to me within 15 seconds of them seeing the bay and I'm just left standing there asking "what?" without decent explanation. I know what the valve tick is, but when it comes to exhaust leaks and "rough idle" stuff, I'm deaf ears. Interior always smells like gas and the exhaust sounds like a dieselComment

who are these exhaust leak tellers?
rough idle is your ICV more than likely.
you need a valve adjustment, but m20's have a pretty audible valve train TBH.Comment
