It's only reasonable if you've done it before. It's tricky the first time and will take you 2-4 times longer than it should.

also dont get a 318 vert
Honestly that's a lot of bias. 318i verts are all late models so you don't have to deal with the valence and diving boards. They also have vinyl interiors (some of them) which in my opinion is much better in a vert because after 20 years I can nearly guarantee it'll look better than leather. If you're looking to do an engine swap it's the same work for both (you can use a g240 with a 24v if you want to) and neither a 318 or a 325 vert is amazingly fast so if you want a zippy car you'll be swapping it either way. IMO the specific car (condition, how it's been maintained, mods) is much more important than what engine it has. Engines are one thing to replace, 20 years of neglect is much more to deal with.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

who stayed in front of me? the guy with the lotus elise, and Mitch's 318is with GOOD suspension/brakes.

who did i leave? well, there was the MS+Holset M20, a couple of M52s... all in e30 coupes/sedans.

I think my brake pads melted after like 3 turns trying to keep up on that run, then I stayed back.

Putting proper pads on the new e30, definitely. Also, on a positive note, turns out 323i's DID come with 51mm struts, so I don't have to get new ones to install these coilovers!

Hey guys, if anyone needs Sterlingsilber metallic plastic bumpers and the valence, I saw them on a 1991 318i 4 door at the North San Jose Pick n Pull today. Figured Id let people know before the junk yard vultures snag them. Unsure of the paint condition but they looked decent when I walked by.

Good god, the most annoying thing in the world is when someone lies to you about a car they're selling. All someone's gonna do it look at it and not buy it, and now everyone's pissed off. Also "I don't know, I bought it like that" shows that you're either a liar or a fucking dumbass, especially when it's something like a salvage title (like every salvage on CL) or a frame rail that's smashed in like 6 inches (like the car Steven and I saw tonight). The body was nearly perfect other than that minor issue

                          End rant. Lol

6 inches is a bit of an overstatement, but it was a considerable amount.

Cab, when you come back from Maui, may I borrow your tool for replacing the trailing arm bushings. I'm tearing up my car this Friday for the S-fiddy-do. Need to replace that and maybe the clunking will stop. So annoyed by it already.
