Knew a buddy who had a custom RWD conversion with a turbo. Sat shotgun in it once. Think it was a turboed F20 with s2000 based struts and driveline components. Long time ago though; can't remember completely. Fun as balls honestly, and looked great

...supports my theory that the only way to get something stubborn to work right is to whine about it in public; it will then begin to work out of spite.
If this was true, pants would have a running E30 ;)
but i have seen weird stuff like this on every install. yesterday i had to cut out an old alarm system, remove 2 old wire harnesses and then figure out the power situation and then next week we have to figure out why his antenna isn't getting power. the (white line isn't even jumpable)

Well, I thought I fixed the HU but now it dies when I hit the brakes, and the brake lights don't work with it connected. I think the brake light power wiring is wired into something dumb.

ya someone tapped into the wrong line. under the dash. there should be a plug with power pins running out of it to power the entire dash. using a manual find out what pin was to the radio originally and then plug into that directly with some 14ga wire. then run that to the HU. from there make sure you have a very solid ground.
14GA is a bit overkill. I have the radio on the correct circuit now, but it remains to be seen whether the correct circuit is tied into the right power rail, and if the brake lights are not hacked up for some shit reasons.
The weird thing is that it used to work, intermittently, with the old HU.
i'd stay away because it has a auto lock feature and if you working on car it makes the alarm go off unless they have figured it out. Last I checked they haven't.

Im super wary of people just throwing in 'rebuilt engine' so casually. That's a big deal and can easily cost 3x his asking price depending on the shop. Does anyone else agree? I know he says he has receipts but that could have been done 10+ years ago
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
