My brother saw a white 1 series vert today and asked if it was Eric's car. I guess they're pretty similar to e30's.

I really wouldn't mind a 1 series vert. That car I saw was white on coral and in super good condition. They're really nice looking cars. But I'm not sure if I could really enjoy having a new car. I take care of my e30 more than most (super careful about parking, avoid bad bumps, etc), but I'm not sure if I could deal with leaving the top down and letting the leather bake in the sun all day on a newer car. That's part of the reason that I actually like having vinyl. I know it's not gonna get too damaged, and even if it does I won't really mind since it's already cracked in places. If I ever redid my interior I would probably put vinyl in again. The body on the other hand is virtually perfect, so I always stress out about keeping it that way.

omg, i can't believe it took an air hammer to remove the damn pin in the selector rod joint! tried for 1.5hr with bunch of other methods and no good. then i remember i have an air hammer... 5 seconds...
