Oh I should mention the way BMW of Roseville handled it was by having me come down an prove I was the owner to order the key, and then they had to have it cut elsewhere and call me when it was ready. Took 2 days from what I remember, could have been due to my order also including a new e39 key.

Shit, two friggen days. Please that's so gay. If they could do it while I am there I would go today.

I don't even know the closest bmw dealership..

Does it have to be a bmw dealership? I am guessing yes.

Also Spencer, great pictures. I honestly doubted your skills. Are all those edited or what? You should teach me how to take pictures.

No it doesn't have to be a dealership to cut the older keys. But you do need the code to cut one. There is two ways to get the code, one from the dealership the other is off the lock cylinder. Either way I highly recommend only using steel keys and not brass ones that most key places use. Danny or I can order you a key from BMW, but that would take two days and requires a current registration along with drivers license that matches the registration. Also the factory keys are a steel cut key, only a few places will even attempt to cut.
