gauge is good, verified on another e30. I measured off a crankcase vent vent (really, the ccv hose from the valvecover has a tee that goes to the back of the intake manifold) and got like 3-5".
the engine runs fine otherwise, none of the cylinders miss, plugs look good, it just makes no power, hesitates before spinning to WOT and runs a bit hot. (which are signs of a bad vac leak and/or a plugged exhaust)
I'm going to be digging at it Tuesday night... need a vehicle to take to buttonwillow this weekend, and the six is struggling.Comment

Late model tank fits. You need to run the return line to the left lobe instead of the main pump, IIRC. The fuel filter mounting might have to be changed slightly, too, but it doesn't seem like a big job.-Kalim

The back of the manifold is a good place to measure so that's cool.gauge is good, verified on another e30. I measured off a crankcase vent vent (really, the ccv hose from the valvecover has a tee that goes to the back of the intake manifold) and got like 3-5".

I think you need to rule out the exhaust. Intake leaks would be next. Then timing.-Kalim

Yeah, lack of vacuum is not helping, haha.
That makes it a little easier. Just drop the exhaust.-Kalim
