no issue here. just have a makeshift airbox and K&N sticker and you are fine. our cars dont need a filter to pass smog but some of the guys are chill and some are douches.

yes they start tonight with qualifying I think in an hour then finals start 11am on sunday. It's the big dogs (NHRA NITRO EATING 10k HP) no Wednesday night mini cars. Pretty much the only thing I go to every year there

I can't find the gov PDF where I learned about it anymore, but I think intakes are legal as of 2012 (airboxes are no longer on the list of "shit that has to be there" for the visual part of the test). That might not have been disseminated to all smog techs, or as Eric said, you could just have found a dickish guy.

Some scary shit happened though. While I was on the freeway I was cruisin' and heard a loud clunk. It only happened once so I figured I hit something. I kept going minding my business. Then I am coming up to my exit and while I am getting off I hear the clunking again. I come about twenty feet the the stop light and my front right wheels locks up and I kind of skid to the line. I was like wtf. I creep forward a little and it clunked real bad again. Once the light turned green I kind of darted forward quickly and as I pulled into a driveway my wheel locks up again. I put my hazards on, get out the car and check it out. I see my caliper resting against the inside of my wheel. I pull all the way in inspect some more and realize I lost a bolt that holds in the caliper, so when I brake it spins and rubs the inside of the wheel. Luckily I had just adjusted/fixed my ebrake and I was able to use that to make it to the smog shop. Once I am at the smog shop my car is backed up on the rollers and as he goes to do the test coolant starts to just pour out of the tank. we stop, check it out and kinda bs. I added some water, sat the coolant tank flat (it leaks when on a decline) and continued the test. And it passed. yay.

Whats with all of these calipers falling off lately? Second one in about a month. I Blue loctite those bolts so that they are still serviceable but dont back out due to poor torque or vibration. I will be much more wary of driving behind e30's now cause they are all going to throw a caliper from what the statistics are starting to show.

You know this can seriously harm - your e30, other cars on the road, yourself, other people on the road, your pocketbook, etc.

was wondering if anybody could help me out with some fuel issues on the e30...i don't know how to determine whether or not the main fuel pump under the car is fine or not or if i have a diff fuel issue...
