So the M3 did its first evil PITA thing last night on my way home from Laguna Seca. It tossed the circlip that holds the shift selector rod to the internal selector rod in the transmission leaving me stuck in 4th gear... In the dark. I managed to get it fixed eventually, but what a PITA to do in a dark parking lot with nothing more than a scissors jack and a flashlight. I even had a circlip that appears to have worked. Still, I'd rather not do that again. Anyone have a good fix for that?

Will, if you get the UUC EVO3 kit that will fix it. or you can order new ones from pelican and then i just wire brush the selector clean and news ones lock better.

The first thing that happened yesterday when I parked was I had multiple people taking pictures of the car and asking me if it was for sale. A Supra while cool and sometimes fast won't garner attention like the M3 can.

I haven't heard a whole lot of good things about this setup. Its stupidly expensive as well. The selector rod was very clean, nothing to scrub off. The Datsun did something like this last year. In that case I was able to lift the shift boot up and slip a small screw and nut through everything to get me home. On the trip home I heard the pin fall out from under the car and was able to ride back to the corner on my bike and pick it up out of the street.
