I think I might know this car. I only know of 3 M3s in the county, mine being one of them, the other two being a red and one white one. If the one in question is the one I think it is, guy states that he's never had an issue with it. Yes its showing the miles, but things like the side marker light for the bumper is very hard to find (I had a rear one fail out of the blue one day. It took me months to track one down since they are different from the normal E30 ones.) The brake warning light issue is likely just the diode on the cluster circuit board needing to be re soldered (I that this issue and that is what solved it.) I'm sure Bill Arnold's labor prices aren't cheap and from what I hear, he knows his stuff. Sure its got high mileage but if everything checks out compression and leakdown wise, do you really need to get in there aside from perhaps doing the rod bearings? I'd guess Bill Arnold would have caught an issue assuming he knows his stuff.
From what I got from talking with the owner he loves the car and has made a serious effort to take care of it. I don't know that its all that bad of a deal considering. True, 5 years ago it was a $15K car but prices are on the rise. If anyone wants me to go take a look at it, I'd be happy to.
