nate and other autox/track junkies- opinion on Toyo Proxes R1R? treadwear rating 140 so i'll probably only get two years out of them, but they're comparable on price point.
They are basically an r-comp with a bit more tread and I'm not sure how long I would expect them to last. Nice and sticky compared to kdw2s though.

yeah, that's the disappointing thing- the KDWs had the perfect amount of stick, to me. my car is point and shoot, i have to do extremely hamfisted shit to get it to break traction- as in, full lock and clutch dump will get it to do donuts, but only that one time- other than that i've not even managed to coax it into a drift unless it's raining. they also lasted four and a half years, and i would probably be looking at 5 if one of them hadn't picked up a sidewall puncture.
now my options are r-comps from tirerack or sketchiness on ebay.
going to see godflesh at DNA tonight. given their frequent use of crucifixion artwork, and that i plan on getting baked out of my mind, i guess i'm celebrating both?
I need a passenger side seat belt for a 2 door car by this Friday.
If you have something close to San Rafael please let me know. I need a working passenger side for autocross Saturday.

So as you guys were discussing motorcycles, I finally found a bike worth getting after searching for months. It wasn't my first choice in manufacturers (in fact, my last) but it was in my price range and fit my needs for starting a cafe project.
Anyways, it's a 1977 Suzuki GS750, just under 60k miles, definitely needs a few things fixed, but should be road worthy in a couple weeks.
I know it's stupid, but I'm considering getting Falken Azenis RT-615K's for my next set of tires. Any of you guys used these before? I'd be DDing them, and would probably end up needing to drive on them in the rain at some point, I realize that they will be sub-optimal in the rain, but if I'm carefull would they be alright?

Not stupid at all; they're great tires. Just be sure to make good use of 'em. :)
They'll work fine in the rain as long as good tread is on them, just drive more cautiously in the wet and avoid standing water if you can. We don't exactly get a lot of rain so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Ok, cool. I was also curious if you guys might agree with my reasoning for getting them. On my last set of tires, Falken Ziex 512s, I burned clean through the whole set before the first rotation. I got 7k miles out of a 400 tread wear tire. The people at the tire shop said that a more performance oriented tire might last longer for me due to my aggressive driving. It sounded reasonable to me so I thought I'd give it a shot.
