I have to disagree with you there. I do think that building the stock engine in a car up to be the best it can be is a beautiful thing, but there's just something about using modern technology to make a classic car into the ultimate version of itself that I just love.

A modern motor has nothing to do with making a vintage car the ultimate version of itself. If it were the ultimate version of itself, it would have a 200 hp long rod L20B that would look stock (since a L20 looks 98% like a L16) A KA24 or SR20 is not an L series and therefore does not belong in a 510 or Z or anything other than a 240SX or a truck. I will say, the SR20 does belong in the 240Sx rather than the KA since that was the motor that it was designed to have, not the KA truck motor that the US cars got in order to meet smog.

Heck, seeing an S14 in a 2002 makes my skin crawl, not only has an M3 lost its motor but a 2002 has been adulterated to put the wrong motor in it. Fail!

Well shit. I just heard that UFO has been shut down permanently (I don't know the details, only that it sounds like its for good.) and I just bought $730 worth of new autocross tires for the roadster that I can no longer use. Anyone needs a set of 25/50/14 Hankook C71 R compounds? Looks like I need road racing tires instead. I'm so pissed.

There isn't a class for the roadster that it would be competitive in. Its way over prepped for CSP, and way under prepped for EP or DP. I could run the M3 in either CSP or STX, and likely do ok, but not the roadster. The Datsun is prepped as a vintage road race car, using the specs from '69 to do so. I don't know about NASA, I haven't looked into running with them. I'd like to do some more vintage road racing, CSRG might let me play, despite the car being too new by some of their rules. Its still prepped in the right spirit, and there aren't many roadsters being raced so they might like it.

I'm just bummed that UFO had to end the way it has.

car off pedal is stiff, car on it's mushy and today I hear air when I'm pressing on pedal. So I believe it's leaking air out backside of brake booster when car is on, probably the reason for my somewhat crappy idle. Vacuum leak.\

Why doesn't my engine just blow up already.
