Okay rolling my car would be very hard, I agree, but it's the idea of surviving a roll then being stuck under my car with literally no way out. Scares the shit outta me.

It's also most certainly disconnected lol
Safer yes practical hell no. Eric said my response in a more blunt way than I would have.
Just cuz we talk/joke about this doesn't make it likely. Just don't drive off a cliff and you'll be fine. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

That car is priced accordingly. Its not a bad deal. The '71 1750 is somewhat rare, and the 1750 motor is far better than the 2L (prone to blowing head gaskets and losing clean out nuts from the oil galleries in the crank.)Someday I hope to have one of these. Definitely one of my favorite cars of all time.

I had offers on mine of $30K, and I turned them down. The insurance company said it was worth $6k, and that is the price you pay for a rusty rolling shell. After arbitration, they said it was worth $12K. That said, there is a big difference between that car at $12K and mine seen here. Mine was a '69, they built 640 of them for the US market that year. They were different from the Canadian cars, Euro cars, and from the '71s (There were no GTVs imported to the US in '70 due to emissions laws.)

I so very much miss that car.

Dude I think I JUST got it to work. The oil pressure light went out, the timing chain tensioner got oil and it quieted down. This is how I hoped the first startup would be but unfortunately it took 2 months of bullshit to get here. Car seems to be running fine. Should be driving it after this weekend. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Better to be pumping oil than pounding sand...
Gotta check your thread to see what the F it was.
Hmm... Gear oil to prime. Kinda makes sense cause the viscosity is so much higher.Last edited by e30vert; 05-29-2014, 05:39 PM. Reason: read Vivek's thread to determine the magic method...
