Vivi- If you have checked the brake line to the caliper which I am sure you have. Then the seals on the inside of the caliper are not sealing to the outer bore of the internal cylinders that move in and out with hydraulic fluid pushing them.

Remove offending caliper. Take brake line off. Remove 2 retaining bolts that hold the outer frame portion to the caliper. Fire up a compressor. Apply an air fitting to the brake fluid input where you removed the cylinder. Give it very very low air and it (the brake piston) will move outward and POP (When I do em there pretty loud) and then it should pop out. Inspect for gunk. Clean vigorously with brake cleaner to break down all sludge. Blow out with compressed air to dry. Remove internal oring like seals. Replace em all.
Coat Oring like seal with small amount of brake fluid and also coat the outer bore of the cylinder \brake piston. Reinsert very centered in caliper and slowly depress the brake piston.

Reassemble and bleed brakes. More than likely these internal seals are allowing hickupps so air can be pulled inward on brake bleed pedal pumps so it will never pump up. Could be that combined with brake sludge which only compounds the problem.

Damn it! Hearing about all the ingenious methods that e30 bro' s use to get out of break down scenarios is really much better than McGyver.

Shoelaces connected to snapped throttle cables that are pulled over the hood through the drivers window. Repostitioning rear axle bolts from the other side axle that has good bolts to fix a side with sheared bolts. On and on. Its a testament to how resilient and crafty e30 owners are "forced" to be in these urban jungle break down situations.

I actually learn alot from these situations.

E30 Picnic sounds like fun, sounds like a lot more fun than BFest.
Bfest was fun (seeing old homies, meeting new ones) but I just feel as if our E30 niche is somewhat distant from the rest of the brand following.

Wish I could make it up but I have school then work :(

Relaxed all day, had a job interview that went well, and about to sell some old bottle caps. Today is going good.

it's not the bad luck. it's the vendors and the organizers. only IE usually shows and they are the only ones that give a damn about e30s. i've talked to other venders including steven dinan and he said it best. "there is no money to be made on older cars. people with new cars can afford the upgrades and R&D and production costs. guys with older cars cannot afford the retail price and having parts taking up retail space for years is not a good business model."

people that have 90k to drop on a new car can usually afford the 10k for mods. where as guys that cant afford new tires, cant afford 3k exhaust systems and 7k real coilovers.
