I had to prime the pump with gear oil through the filter housing and quickly after, put everything back together and start the car. Then it'll pump before the oil drains down (thick gear oil takes longer). I had tried this a few times in various ways, but then it finally worked.

I think those RCs look great on your convertible Vivek. Glad to hear you got your M42 woes figured out. I just got my 318i back yesterday. It needed all new timing components, the chain, sprockets, all guides, another new tensioner, and whatever else in there makes that chain go round. Its nice to have it back and no longer with that awful diesel sound.-Ryan
