I've had no trouble finding 16" brand name tires for any of my friends when I've looked.

regarding tires, 205/50r16 is too tall, and the only tire choice in 215/45r16 is <200TW performance tires. It's also not the size I need for my 8" rears, 225/45r16 would be preferable but those don't even exist.

Theyre both 16s

e28 m5 style 5s are 16x7.5 et20 and dont have a step lip to it.

Dunlop makes 225/45-16 star spec 2s, but they're at 200 treadwear, not under. :\

E28 M5 basketweaves over e38 style 5s anyday.

M5 weaves are pretty much 16" m3 weaves... And that's cool

I would have wanted the M5 16" weaves over the M3 15" weaves, but have a set of 15s as a light auto-x wheel/beater wheel/spare sounds more practical
15" tires are pocket change

Jk its not the m5 style 5 its the e28 style 5, same size but the end of the weaves to lip are different;
