steak & beer on the emeryville peninsula today. awesome place to watch the fireworks from; panoramic view of peninsula/sf/marin/berkeley.

also: last night i learned the mazda mx-5 and the mazda3 share the same engine architecture. the mx5 2.0 and the early 2.3 engines can be combined to make a high-compression 2.3, or you can drop a few points of compression if you just want to go with the 2.5... eeeeenteresting

                  Indeed. Frankenmotors are my favie.

The concept taken to track-day-weapon extreme: http://www.good-win-racing.com/mazda...rymazda/1.html

I remember when turbo m20 guys were happy to get 270 at the wheels... Though admittedly I would build one much more sedate and street-friendly. Stroker w/bolt-ons would probably be plenty.

m20b30 would be the end game.

If I could get 250 crank-hp, I'd be happy. Evidently, Aussies be doing big things and have built multiple m20s putting down 300+hp

                    I want that
