I'm a tech weenie these days; what I interviewed for is a Linux admin job in San Mateo. If you want to start down that career path, QA testing is where I started after coming back from Iraq. If you can troubleshoot a car, you can do the same with a website or smartphone app. Stay away from game companies, though, most of the time they pay shit and are dead-ends, career-wise.

i am, but that's specific to how this summer has gone, specifically for myself and the other guy on the DevOps team. we had a new relationship with a virtual school that required us to scale to handle 5x the traffic we used to. somehow we still kept 3 9s worth of uptime, but it's been extremely stressful and i'm burned out.

I got plenty of Jeep waves, lots of gas station conversations and compliments. Mind you that was in 07 the first year of the JKU's it was a big hit when I drove it around.
