unfortunately, delays have continued on remodeling the new house. had to spend a few more hours at home despot arranging emergency delivery of new hardwood flooring since someone in the supply chain dropped the ball on the last order.
thankfully, that's the last thing on the list. both bathrooms are mostly or all new. LED lighting throughout the house is done. i fixed an issue with the water heater. interior paint is complete, as are some security improvements i wanted. new washer/dryer are on the way (and to be installed by someone else).
also thankfully, the gf has not minded me crashing with her until everything's set and i can start moving my stuff from the garage to the house so i can put, yanno, cars and shit in it.
Kit's an asian guy, about my age (late 30s). don't know what Lemons team he's active with, but he was there. used to work at Citrix. we've got other mutual friends with him- i mentioned him at Nate's bday party while bullshitting over beers in the backyard and a couple guys were like "oh, you know Kit too"? i met him from se-r-list in the 90s, back when we did this kind of thing over email, not forums :P
i know Shane from the local rave scene about the same time frame, when we were both DJs. caught up with him at an event a few weeks ago and he said to say hi to the meat tree.
also, i saw a beat-to-shit blue/rust shitbox Datsun with wide tires on a trailer on sunday night when i was headed back south from an ikea run. thought "god DAMNIT."past:
