No I think I popped the headgasket. It's blowing white smoke and there's a milkshake. The headgasket on this motor has always been a bit weak though. It would eat some coolant every once in a while and I've had cooling issues since I got it. I spent too much time in redline and I broke it.

Ah, that'll happen. Is fixable though.

You guys think it's worth it to punch the bottom end out to 3.2? Or should I just redo the head with some schricks and call it good? Would the bottom end increase be significant or is it negligible?

if your bores are scored you'll need to hog it out

i did that to the s50 block i got, but it needed it and stock s52 pistons sounded better to me than oversize s50 ones.

now i can run a s52 ob2 tune cause the engine is basically a s52.

this is all theoretical because i still have to drop it in the car.

Hey Danny, glad to see you around. I still have the rare/OEM E30 rear all-season floor-mats that you helped me get while you were at BMW Concord that one time and they live on in my new E30 shell.

Side-note, making a little "homecoming" next Monday with my E30. Hasn't been in the Bay Area since New Years. Taking it home, then to Yosemite and sleeping in it.

bad news: the bar where i have a dj residency is closing at the end of next month and i am fucking bummed. i got drunk about it last night, the kind where you wake up in bed and don't remember how you got home.

good news: i'm moving to san francisco, found a musician's commune about a mile from work and 10 blocks from the gf's place.
