PNW Person Here, Whats up with Cali Prices?

Been browsing for a Coupe IS model E30 down south by you guys and noticed cars there seem to be inflated a ton!

I mean there are cars there that up here go for 2500-3000 being sold for 6000-7500...

I mean they are nice cars but we are getting overboard here with the number of miles they have on them.

IMO even an E30 is not worth 4k+ with 200K+ on it. Unless its absolutely mint overall besides engine miles.

Someone want to explain to me?

E30's are becoming harder to find as the years go by.

It used to be that SoCal was the land of milk and honey for E30s. Not anymore...

they are pricey... I look around for E30's every week or so and the prices in Socal are usually stupid. I buy my cars in Norcal and bring them back.

Its making it look nearly impossible for me to sell my vert and buy a half decent coupe. Everything is modified and price jacked.

Everything in cali has inflated prices. It is a more desireable place to live which raises the costs of everything.

There has been a HUGE influx of people buying them super cheap and doubling the price to sell them. Yes the prices are high but I'll tell you from experience, THEY WILL ACCEPT LESS. Ive purchased two e30s in the last month. One was posted for $3400, bought it for $2600. The other was posted for $3600, bought it for $3000.

You just have to know what to look for in order to bring their price down. Leaks, body damage, bad paint, bad interior, noises etc. They will quickly bring their pricing down.

The problem I have found are the people that are buying and selling them. They have realized the potential these cars have in resale and they will try to screw the next buyer so they can make a huge profit.

I came across two guys in the San Fernando Valley and they both didnt have the title in their name and we found out later that they knew each other and were flipping cars together. Just be weary of the people you're dealing with. If they seem shady, its probably a shady deal.
