Is that to everyone's liking? (No sarcasm). I'm new to selling any skills I have over the Internet. I was not acting in bad faith at all. I think most if not all people that have met me from this site can say that I am a genuine, honest, loyal, and straight fellow especially when dealing with monetary issues, favors, or trust issues. I apologize for the mixup. I never had any bad intentions especially knowing that everything on the Internet is on record forever and can be viewed by anyone and pounced upon by anyone. I've been on the Internet BMW forum community for 13 years and have seen many people do that type of shit and go down because the people always get wind of it and it always comes back to unscrupulous and ill-intentioned purveyors of services. I had advice from Mariano in the past, no charge, i came to him

Took a speeding ticket which i was looking at a misdemeanor for
doing 100+ and a fat 600+$ fine, squeezed out of it like butter.

I dont think he ever alludes to being a lawyer of any sort and is clear
that he meerely offers advice, great one at that.

Thanks man. I can understand the compulsion to think I'm misrepresenting myself what with all the hucksters and sheisters in our e30 community trying to scam people. But I assure you, none of that is happening here. I'm simply trying to offer any services I have that I used to give away for free and make a little money on the side. That is all.... Admittedly, I just didn't think to reference the text, it was an honest mistake. I did not appreciate, however, that all the good faith I believe I had earned after being a part of this site for over 8.5 years and E3S for its duration, and DTMPower since 1999 can be dashed with one thread.

You've edited your original post and have credited the appropriate citations. Not to mention your citation says you have consent from the original creator of the worded document should be enough.

You stated you are not a lawyer and you are not representing anyone legally but just providing a service that helps people by the knowledge and experience you have sounds fine to me.

Maybe if a mod can clean this thread up and if turge and smooth can recommend to Mariano on what else he should change in wording or proposing his service would actually help him and our community out?

All I am saying is that he can not be payed for any service that gives legal advice. Same thing with representing someone with their case. He is not a licensed attorney / lawyer under the state BAR and he can get in a lot of trouble if he is caught doing that.

I would rephrase the original post to say that he can provide feedback on the case, but that he is not a licensed attorney and his opinions should not be considered in court. Basically if he gets payed for giving legal advice he has a chance of being sued or indicted.

Pardon my ignorance, but why would it be illegal for a "friend" to do the same thing you can easily do yourself but do not have the time for? I'm not being sarcastic. I'm simply trying to help people out for a small fee with something I've been doing for family and friends for at least a decade, I don't understand the perceived hostility. Or is the part that I'm advertising it the illegal part? Should it be word of mouth?

The problem is you are doing it for money and advertising this on a forum is not the best thing to do since you are not a licensed attorney. If someone's case goes wrong, you can get sued or even arrested for illegally practicing law. I'm not trying to be a dick dude, I'm just telling you how California state law operates. That is providing legal consulate since you are sending in the letter.

Then I ask you this, why would it be completely legal for any Joe Schmoe to write their own argument? Why, with ticketassassin not being any type of attorney equally as qualified as myself, can be compensated for alerting and helping people as to their rights and writing their argument for them?!

I am providing knowledge and disseminating information that is available to any person. Lighten up. I'm only trying to offer a service to do the work that almost everyone doesn't have the knowledge or time to do for themselves. Just like you don't have to be a certified public accountant to do your taxes, bud. They are public and legal documents available to any person.

You do NOT have to be an attorney to submit a TBD form.... ANYONE can do this by mail, in the mailbox, in person.....
