Oil pan is destroyed - anyone have an engine support?

My oil pan has been destroyed by the love of coilovers.

I need to swap it out and was wondering who has an engine support beam that goes across the motor over the fenders for me to swap it out. I just need to borrow it. Thanks all.

Why? Its easy to just undo mounts and jack the motor up. I have changed many that way only takes 30-45 minutes if that

Forgot to add that I have a swapped motor - s50. There's no way to do a 45 min oil pan swap on a 24v right? Should the process be the same? Luckily my Gettrag 260 bell housing has holes drilled in it to get to the last two long oil pan bolts.

The flywheel is what gets in the way. IIRC.

i don't think it's possible to properly do an oilpan in thirty minutes by any stretch of the imagination. but yes, you should be able to lift the motor enough without a crane support.

around the shock towers and under the fan clutch on the front. the straps can hold up to 800lbs or something like that so it's perfectly safe as long as you have it strapped right. makes the job much quicker.

there are a ton of guys on r3v selling all styles of skid plates. i really like EJ's but it's just pref.

as for holding the engine up. i held my entire VWcabriolet from my dad's rafters when doing a clutch job. wasnt smart but worked. I have a crane now, so if u want to bring the car over next weekend ill help you change the pan. est 1-1.5h

So, to put the strap around the shock towers, I am guessing that I have to take out the front shocks and springs. Or atleaest loosening up the shock from the Camber plates and drop the sway link to slip the strap through. Is this the right idea?

That would be great!!! I would gladly take the help and youre close anyway. I think we have even met on one of the friday drives to the Stoneridge Pleasanton meet. I however cant drive the car cuz of the pan. Anyway to bring the crane over and do it in my garage? I have a touring to transport the crane.

no, no. you just wrap it around the shock towers. no need to unbolt anything but the motor mounts.

Undo the 17mm nuts and jack from a/c compressor. Some people here won't like that, but it works. You don't need to lift it that much.
