What to do in Southern California?

So I'm going to be in LA for a day next month, with nothing to do. I get there at roughly 9 AM, and don't leave until the next day at 10 AM. The hotel is just South of LAX, near 405 just North of Manhattan Beach Blvd.


Is there anything fun to do around there? I will not have a car, but may have very limited transportation from the hotel van. Basically I'm looking for ideas of how to waste my time.

Lots of nice shops in el segundo. theres also south bay galleria on hawthorne and redondo beach blvd. Jet Strip on Hawthorne.

The Strand in Hermosa has a lot of nice girlies. I prefer the Venice/Santa Monica area myself but with no wheels that might be tough.
