I was up there last Saturday and we were going to stay with a few friends who had rented a house, but they wanted $150/head (there was 3 of us). It was more than I was willing to spend to share a bed with my brother, and my buddy would've had a couch to sleep on.

      NO THANKS

We drove up another hour to my parents place where my parents had a bed for each of us, my mom had cooked dinner AND a bomb breakfast. Feeling good about my decision.

I'm leaving tomorrow, I'll be there all weekend. Dorkfest and watching the track events. Think I signed up for autocross too, I'll have to check.

That's not so bad. My hotel wants $700+ a night, good thing we booked 8 months ago before the price hike :)

I was booking hotels this afternoon for thurs-sat, and there are plenty of places in monterey near laguna seca that are ~$140 range. Not sure what kind of place charges $700....

not sure if it's close to the other O fest activities, but it's super close to the racetrack!

^rates are down this week because the auctions, concours, and vintage races are over, and most of those cars/people the cars are gone. Most of the Octoberfest people are staying at the Hyatt.

From what I read it seems like there is a registration before the AutoX. SAT is for non M cars, SUN is for M cars.
