What are you looking to get done? If you have tools and some skill you can handle a LOT of the work yourself

Me but I dont work on others cars anymore.

Steve Bush in Pittsburg owns Bush Motor Works and is a true long time master certified BMW technician.

Aside from CA tuned in Sac, JB Autowerks in Hayward and Performance Technique in Dublin are all great too.

              Avoid catuned at all cost.

Your 2 best people are Josh at HMB motorwerks, and RyanG at ryangmw.
These are the only 2 guys I recommend in NorCal

What shop did you end up going to and did you have a good experience?

Went to Ryan G. Motorworks and I unfortunately had a bad experience so I most likely won’t be going back even though they are the closest shop to me.

Bought some parts from CA Tuned and really liked talking with Igor over there but they aren’t really a service shop. Some awesome projects going on in that shop!

Has anyone actually had work done by HMB?

I had work done at HMB and I'd recommending going there. Had Josh help me put in some GC coilovers and along the way mentioned anything that needed fixing. Nice and knowledgeable guy. He also gave some suggestions for future upgrades and he's got some cool projects in the shop to boot.
