should i have just engaged the clutch or let off gas?

Reverse was the hardest for me to figure out - hills as well. You'll get the hang of it soon enough!

idk i think because i get excited and put an angle on it...i grind going into 5th and 2nd...
    rest are fine lol.
yeah i purposely park far away in parking lots so i can pull forward in a space or take different roads to avoid hills now, but i feel like I AM DRIVING the car now, not riding in it!

When on a hill, holding the foot brake, let the clutch out slowly until it just starts to grab, then when you take your foot off the brake rollback will be minimal then start going.

 Good job bro! As long as you don't wine it out with the clutch half in they can take a pretty good beating.

Dude, seriously don't worry about it. the first few weeks I was learning I would miss shifts and grind gears all day long. It happens. A year and a half later my clutch is still strong.
