who's doing east coast paint jobs!?

i see all these threads popping up about 800 and 500 dollar paint jobs, but nothing over my side of the country.

i will be painting my car soon, have one friend who works at a shop quote me 1400(includes rust repair, prep, materials, and dent removal, oh and more rust repair). but that is also the super friend discount and it would take about a week since he will only be working on it after he finishes his real work.

so who's around here is trying to hook up the e30 community with nice paint jobs that will drop some panties this summer?

that sounds like a pretty good deal to me considering rust repair is involved. honestly the 1k or less deals around here are only for perfectly straight cars.

sounds reasonable. i already comitted to my buddy, happy to support a local guy and he has a e30 which he painted, so i can approve of his work

i would be afraid of anything less than 1k. I saw the work that macco does (actual shop work and finished product), and i was assume that anyone else painting a full car for $400 will care about the quality of their work just as little. They weren't in it because they care or have pride in their work, just a quick dollar.

that being said, i would love to be disproved so i can get an inexpensive paint job.

i take my rx8 to mr. spoiler in manasass a few times a year (:(), the paint is excellent. they do outstanding work. every time im there i see heavily modified nsxs, gt2s, vipers, etc.

i once asked him what he would charge to repaint an e30. he said 7-8k.

                ouch.

lol im sure. but he is not pressed for business.

he just had a gt2 in there that needed a new front bumper cover. it cracked when he went into a pothole. the car is very low. that new bumper cost $20k. and he paid out of pocket. the unpainted bumper cost the body shop $6k and another $3k in trim pieces. it was really sexy though. half cage inside. owner tracks it too.
