There is an IX with a transfer case at the small junk yard next to the pick and pull. Iirc it was an auto, not sure if that matters.

I will keep keep an eye out tomorrow that I'm goin to the yards.

Thanks guys! Yes it does matter the auto is a bit different, but maybe if the t-case isnt FUBAR I can swap parts?

iirc a manual needs a transfer case from a manual. I think mine may be on the way out due to the fact that the po had different brand tires front and rear.

I tried calling bavarian autohaus today, we'll see if they can hook me up.

Not sure I trust a non bmw shop, the first time I pulled off the wheels when I bought the car somebody put the locknut underneath the wheel bolt..doh!
and the screws on my rotor cap were basically stripped when we did the timing belt..

I'm not talking about some sketch ford/chevy pickup repair shop, I'm talking about a proper drive-line service shop that does those kind of things.

Pop the T-case out and bring it to them. Or sell the car to me...

BMWs aren't that different, especially when it comes to drive-line stuff.
