Got the car weighed over at Poudre Sports Car tonight for shits and giggles

    1991 318is
No AC, Full interior, 2/3rds full tank of gas

    LF 650 RF 655
    LR 585 RR 599
    Total:2489

    Front 52% Rear 48%

I knew 318is's were light, but I was thinking more around 2600 pounds, pretty happy with the results

is that with you in the car or not?

I weighed my 318is at a junkyard and it was 2560, but that was with me in it, (I weight about 150), and an 8" sub and huge 4-channel amp, but also no AC or PS, and no rear interior. And it was also with a scale designed to weigh trucks up in the many many tons.

AWD + turbo's definitely don't suck. Especially at altitude!

Did you just pay them to weigh it or did they do it for free? I've been looking for a place that isn't a truck scale.

David, how did I know your response once again would be instantaneous?

and yes, please PLEASE bring it to the CUSCC meet. Also, this car would be a PERFECT candidate for Roland's S52.

Lemons precludes pretty much every go fast mod you can think of. $500 budget's a bit tight!

No, that is not my kid. And I also didn't put it on the trailer, it is pretty impressive the he got it to fit on there. It made it to the garage so we are good to go until we get our bigger trailer.

I was not in the car, I also had a spare in the back, looking at your car and then looking at my car I think there a few more things in my interior, it would be interesting to see your car on the scales though.

They did it for free, but my best friend works there and I brought a six pack over for him...

                            I see! I guess I can estimate the weight of my car now: 2560lbs - 60 lbs for sound system/sub/amp - 150lbs for me = approx 2350

So you think rear seats, and carpet, trunk carpet, spare are around 150 pounds?

I definitely don't, I've pulled that stuff before. You might get 100 if you pull the trunk tar (if M42 cars even have it) but 150 for taking seats? They're maybe 25lbs each (backrest/buttrest). Carpet's not super thick or heavy, maybe another 25lbs there. Spare will net a fair bit of weight savings, but a spare is nice to have in case you get a flat.
