    Salvage yards around Denver

Since it has been discussed a little bit around here, I thought I'd post some info about what Bmws there are in the salvage yards I visit.

Anyone who has visited a yard and saw a bmw should feel free to post here so we can all find/fight over parts. :)

e30s are, of course, more awesome to know about...

I only visited 2 yards today because of the epic win.... (see my build thread)

    ----------------------

    As of 1pm 4-3-2010:

    Upullandpay - 66th & Broadway

'86 528e mt- diff, wiring harness & ecu gone. transmission & engine still in it, not too picked over.

'93 325is 2dr green mt- hit in the front, lots of engine parts jacked up, ecu gone, harness cut to hell. interior gone, switches, etc...pretty worthless really.

Western Auto recycling - 61st and Federal

'91 325i 2dr red mt- hit in the front, jacked up engine components. seats gone, computers yanked, some interior parts still there. trim bits and switches still in. 2 cracks in dash.

'87 325e 4dr dark blue mt- pretty good shape, just set. Standard seats in okay shape, some tears on driver bolster. most of the interior still there, 3 cracks in dash. engine mostly complete with harness and ecu. no diff or driveshaft(yay me!), most of the body in pretty good shape.

92 525i 4dr black - non-vanos interior good and there, most of the drivetrain good, I think it was a manual. Didn't look like anyone had really touched it, a few piddly bits gone from the interior.

    ---------------------

That about sums it up. I'll definitely update this thread after every time I go out, since then I remember what I saw. There are more yards in the metro area, and I know some of you have been out recently, I need to know where to go next!

damn, I gotta get to that one on federal.

I was at the upull and pay just a couple hours before you and couldn't find shit, though I was only looking for e30s. That yard next door had 80 something 525i with the brake booster I needed.

Kinda dissappointing though, cause they usually had around 5 e30s.

            5030 york st.
            303/296/2211

Was there a month ago. Eric Sumpter, owner, says he gets bmw's in quite often. He's also a bmw guy.

One mostly complete E30 325 four door I believe. Was running before it was parked for parting.

Another E30 is mostly all picked apart, but theres a few parts left.

i believe this thread could be a sticky, a great resource for the denver/colorado/mountain peoples.

that is, until someone dies fighting over an mtech kit that is found at teh junkyard, imagine a r3v showdown, hahahaha.

I need a minty E30 dash and a white E34 front bumper and fender if anyone has seen either.

Colorado Auto Parts was pretty tapped out last time I looked - There was the following:

540i, 1993 or so. Bronzit (or close to it). Had most of the interior and engine componentry/drivetrain.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

monkeytaco: there were many of those!! should have called!

Sean: I'll keep that in mind! I am between jobs so now is the perfect junkyard-diving time!

David: its an auto 540i. The only E34 540i manual in the US is a 1995. and sorry i didn't find the door handle....

BTW, i hit 4 yards, it was epic!!! the last yard had lots of BMWs, but it wasn't a pull and pay, i wasn't allowed in the yard. :(
