What you need for a good autox turbo M20 is a slight cam (schrick or VAC might have an M20 turbo cam), wiiiiiiiiide tires, and a good suspension setup.
400whp is totally doable, if you have the tires to put it down. Turboing an M20 bumps you into SM class at a minimum, so wide flares, 18x10s or 15x10s, 285/18 or 275/15, and a wicked suspension setup are needed to be competitive. M30 will be better power on boost, but heavier, so not a good SM motor. LS1 would be insane, and lighter than an M20 + turbo option......but you'd be in XP.
If you just want to have fun though.....don't worry about classing and just do what you want.

if the m42 is done right and all the right parts which they are very pricey!!!! it could do 400+hp.. but if you build a eta bottom with an i head the right way it can do 300+hp easily.. proven many times..overall both engines are great(m42.. m20)sigpic
