Kinda depends on what you'll be riding... For living in Boulder all my life, I've never ridden any trails in Golden, so I'm not sure what they're like. Your ballpark range will fall somewhere between 28 psi and 45 psi. 35 psi is a good starting point, and you can adjust as you need.

Tubeless is nice since you don't run the risk of pinch flatting and as a result can run pretty low pressures. The upside to this is extra grip. The downside, poor pedaling efficiency.

I run about 28 psi on my non-tubeless downhill bike for most trails and rarely have a problem with flatting. That said, being on a downhill bike means I'm not focused on being a mobile-Chernobyl, so I take the extra grip over being efficient.

Is that Yosei or Macx? I'm guessing Yosei.

Congrats on the bike Brad. I have the major sweep fisher bars and actually like them. For a hardtail your tubeless tires are your suspension (other than your body), so you can run them pretty low, like as low as 20psi. It'll feel really weird at first, like you've got a flat. Unless you are doing the Triple Bypass you shouldn't ever need to go more than 30psi. For the flat trails in the Marshall network I usually start at 30psi for the roads and dirt paths (so called trails) and let out 5psi for the tech bits. My 2.2 29er tires will go from 30 to 25psi in about 3-4 seconds. If I'm riding Apex or Enchanted forest in Golden I drop down to 22ish (about 5 seconds from 30psi). FYI I weigh about 190.

Tis Yosei and I totally agree with what he said on pressures.

I so should have ridden this weekend instead of making a mess of my E30. Here's a little motivation for all of us.

I posted the crash at the end of this in Ian's thread a while back, but I put together some riding stuff from Enchanted Forest.

Enchanted Forest in Golden. Best way to ride it is up Chimney Gulch, down Apex, break off at Enchanted Forest. You can only go down Apex / Enchanted Forest on even days.

Ok.... First off... Please go easy on me guys. I'm decently new to the MTB community on an "involved" level, but I've always ridden mountain bikes. Just now kinda getting into the tech aspect of it... I mentioned once in this thread that I bought a MTB, yay, woop-dee doo.... I'm curious now if it's trash, what's trash, what can be changed, improved upon, etc. etc. etc......

This is off the top of my head, but I think I can get it all right, so bear with me. I can post pics if requested.

So, this is as best I can gather in a very short period of time... Ready to give some feedback? GO

so im moving to grand junction in the fall, should i Also bring my bike? i have a decentish gary fisher marlin hardtail, its nothing fancy, but a good base.

Im normally a huge time climber.. and figure i would spend all my time doing that. but what better way to get to boulders and explore stuff when i dont have a climbing partner than a bike ride???

                                hmm.. should i?
