I am jealous, Chris. Because of your insane driving skills, you now get to race around HPR for free.
Engineering is awesome: Doing Lat G vs Tire vs Camber test for credit, need help.

Bumpdate.
We have chosen March 6th for experiments, with March 12th being backup day #1 if weather is bad. We've chosen to measure max lateral G per corner per lap per camber/compression setting combination. It's going to be wicked fun.
Who wants to come out? The testing will be priority 1, but we need a minimum of 10 drivers to ensure the day actually happens (HPR's rule). Cost is $100/day in winter.....Comment

And again, another update: tire width vs compression, on brand new sets of 245 and 255/40/17 star specs. Two tire widths vs three compression settings at 5ish laps per combo. It's going to be a wicked day.
Still on for March 6th!Comment

So I apparently can't tell February from March on a calendar. March 6th is a Motorcycle day, March 5th and 13th are winter pricing Car days. Unsure which day our group is going to the track, probably the 13th.
Sorry all.
Thanks! We're no longer doing camber vs tire vs lat G though-- we're doing compression vs tire width vs lat G.Comment

Compression won't make much difference in overall grip.. Actually it will probably be within the noise of the data acquired. Tire width may make a big enough difference to measure... But you need tires that are either all new or identically heat cycled and worn to have a useable data set.Comment

That's our thought as well. We have a new set of 255 and 245 star specs though, neither of which have seen any road miles yet.Compression won't make much difference in overall grip..
