    My $250 E28

So as some of you know, recently scored an E28, it is an auto w/ a shot trans, but a straight body and complete interior, new tires, etc. Decent for $250. Also with no key.

So we got her running today, just had to disassemble the ignition cylinder. She fired up almost immediately (after 2 years of sitting) and she runs absolutely beautifully. Quietest valve train on an M20 I have ever heard. Of course, she doesn't even hint at wanting to move, all the gear settings on the selector have the same response as the "N" setting.

So I have to tow her home tomorrow or the next day.

I plan a 5-speed swap, and I have a parts car in mind, I just hope the guy takes my offer. I'll also swap over the ignition cylinder from the parts car. We broke this one. THey are designed that so they HAVE to break to get the steering wheel to move.

Well, here she is in all her glory!!

J/K dude. I'm just not digging the body colour or the cosmetic damage. Both of which I hope you will fix. ;)

my reasoning is this: The tires are worth $250. They are BRAND new. like pretty nearly zero miles on them. Therefore, the car is worth it. And it runs. Can't ask for much more for $250.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

I am very on board with this notion.

FYI- it isn't Bronzit. I looked at the color code. It is something else, can't remember the name of it atm, it is a slight darker than Bronzit. Either way, my favorite E28 color is Alpine white, but with two stage urethane base/clear, with ALOT of clear, and ALOT of buffing.

Also, tucked bumpers, maybe i'll spring for Euros if my buddy in Finland can ship them to me cheap enough.
