Yeah, I think the whole "do we need a mod" debate is still just that, a debate. Sometimes I wish we could get some mod action (to clean up my 318is FS thread), but most times it is not neccesary.
HOWEVER, the one thing that DOES happen alot, is alot of OT talk piles up in a thread that was truly intended by the OP to be something to stay short and on topic, and ppl get to yapping, then the OP wishes his thread was cut back down to the main point, so he can continue in his purpose in making that thread. It does happen alot. While not a HUGE issue, it would be cool to BS in a thread, OP wants it to be cleaned up and back on topic, resident mod can do the OP a favor and clean said thread. Contacting Janderson or Jparkr once a week for something like this would get very old for them.
Also, this facilitates searching for noobs, they don't have to wade through our ancient archived BS from like a year ago to find out how someone torched the shit out of their subframe bushings for example.
