im not sure about battering on my car.. being lowered, oversize 17 in tires, and no skid plate could be a recipe for disaster.. its hard enough to find parts for my caras it is

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Not to mention that rally absolutely ruins the inside of your car.

So to all you Sallys whining about your cars: here is what I am doing, I am buying a cheap CL car for sub-$500, I will rally it, then sell it and break even.

Speaking as someone who has done this many times, it can certainly be done (I made $1000 on a $500 Merc Mountaineer once). The trick is to snap up a ridiculous deal within an hour of it being listed on CL, then take your time when you sell it to get the maximum amount possible for it.

Yeah, except they run GTIs and stuff, with like 50 more hp stock...

This one will be fun, I just want to be able to re-sell it afterwards.

85hp is plenty! Just shed the doors (~50 lbs per), hatch (60 lbs), bumpers and bracing (100 lbs), hood (30 lbs), and all the seats but the driver (60 lbs) and you'll be down to ~1500 lbs. Doesn't take much to sling that around.
