Sorry to hear that, I really wish there weren't so many problems going on in that area.

So I would like to propose an amendment to the Lookout Mtn Drive. I have been talking to some buddies at work, and I hear lookout mtn road has only a 25mph speed limit, and waaay too many bikers around blind corners to be remotely safe at any sort of hooning speed. I was suggested rt 9 that goes up to Estes.

Or....you enjoy the drive without hooning?

Pretty sure you mean 7 up to Estes via Allenspark. That road is really scenic and fun, but it's not a road I'd be comfortable hooning on. Way too many blind entrances and driveways, corners, and perfect cop spots. That, and it goes through a few towns.

I'm planning on just enjoying the drive wherever we go, but I vote Lookout since we'll be BBQing after anyway.

Seemed fine to me when I was last up there. As long as you stay in your lane, and bikers stay in their's it'll be fine.

Pics of route? Sounds like it would be fun, I like Estes park.

The idea was to have fun with friends, look at cars, eat food. If we want to go fast somewhere we can hit up bear creek canyon or somewhere else.

I am just sayin what Steve Ziegler told me, (David, you know him, mechanical assembler at LASP) and he is an avid biker, both pedal bike and crotch rocket, and he said the cops infest lookout rd. I dunno, I'm just saying what I am hearing. I have no evidence of my own to back this up. He says the road to Estes from Lyons is amazing. I will look on Maps and see what he is talking about.

                    Let's do Bear Creek!

Anyway, I was just thinking out loud, I was assuming people will be switching into Hoon-Mode, since a bunch of car enthusiasts will be driving together up twisty mountain roads...

I don't know man, Me, Roland, and Ian all have been up that road countless times. I have never once seen a cop.

                          ...track day the day before?

I'm just planning on going for a relaxing drive. We're already planning on BBQing and chilling as a group, so changing the location of the drive doesn't make sense.

This. Going absurdly fast wasn't on my to-do list.

With a broken M3 and a bouncy Scoob, you don't have much of a choice in speeds

that's true I guess, but I have a non-broken E30 that needs to test out its recently acquired ST sways. ;)
