if they don't know about work done to the car, you can't complain. they think its a 20 year old car with 200k+miles. your not doing to bad in that case. buy it back.

the answer to this problem is, don't crash your car. bad stuff happens.

buy it back and find somewhere to store it... there are lots of E30 nerds in the PNW who might have space. you're going to lose your ass on all those new parts otherwise.

OK, man, so I feel your pain, but you gotta look at shit like they do.

All of your work, all of those parts are basically replacement parts...as in a brand new set of billy sports is worth EXACTLY the same to them as a 300,000 miles set of stock shocks.

Your brand new timing belt and brand new water pump means exactly the same as one about to snap...see? They just don't care about your repairs/upgrades, they mean nothing to them.

So, don't get all butthurt about them giving you less than you feel it is worth. Talk to them about you swapping in other bits (shocks, struts, springs, whatever) and see if you can swing a deal....

                        GL!

You won't get paid for any upkeep items. The max you would get paid for are items that you would get paid for in a comprehensive claim. For instance cd player, wheels. Upkeep items are exactly that, upkeep.

^most definitely, but you have to have receipts for those items. Thats why I always keep receipts for parts. Also depending on how much they'll sell it back to you for, you should just buy it back and part it out if you're really worried about losing a ton of monies, which you will...
