I have some diff whine I believe too.

So how much is the oil, and 1 quart is enough.. I am assuming?

I want to say just under 2 quarts for the diff and little less for the transmission. I bought mine at Napa for $10.50 a qt.

My transmission likely needs a flush.. but I hear that is something you have a shop do

I had mine order it for me. A shop can do a flush but I want to say it's over $100 to do it.

5Toes, you can do the trans service yourself. Prepare for a big ass mess and make sure you have a way of disposing of said fluid however.

IIRC, differentials take about 1.5 liters of gear lube.

You can service it and change the filter, but only 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid will drain out. Second on the huge ass mess.
